Aubrey's 5th Birthday Party

Aubrey turned five the first week of Kindergarten. We had her party Saturday. She told Kathy Petty that she wanted to have her party at her house. Aubrey and Kathy have been planning a Hannah Montana birthday party for a month. Aubrey said we need to have pizza, salad, and lots of water. We ordered pizza, had salad and lots of water. We got other drinks too. Aubrey wrote her invitations out and has been very instrumental in planning her party. The morning of her party at 11:00 Aubrey, Samantha, Whitney, Aunt Jennifer and I went to Libby Lou at Parks Mall in Arlington. The girls got to dress up, they got their hair, nails, and make up done. They made their own lotion, body scrub, and fragrance spray. They had so much fun. Aubrey and Whitney got to dance at the end. The video is of Whitney and Aubrey at Libby Lou dancing.

After Libby Lou we ate lunch at Chick Fil A so Aubrey could get fruit and sweet tea. We headed back to Red Oak to go to her party. A few of the girls and a boy from Aubrey's class came to her party. Craig, Erica, Noah, Jordan, Stephanie, Brandon, Miranda, Ashley, Layni, Brandy, Justin, Kaityly, Ashleigh, Abby, and more of our family and friends were there. One of Kathy's friend's daughter dressed up like Hannah Montana. Each of the girls got a boa when they came in the door. There was a karaoke machine that the girls danced and sang to. They played and then ate pizza. Aubrey got many great presents for all our friends and family. Aubrey had been asking for Baby Alive and a Hannah Montana guitar. Mimi got her Baby Alive and Grannie and Miranda got her the Hannah Montana guitars. The two guitars are different and Aubrey is playing with both of them all the time. She got Hannah Montana toys and clothes. Bo and Kathy gave her a hot pink go cart. She loved it, and so did Logan. Logan did not want to get out of the seat. Aubrey had a great birthday. Thank you to all our friends and family. You guys are the best!! We love ya'll.

Aubrey's First Day of Kindergarten

I can't believe it!! Aubrey started Kindergarten at Life School on August 18, 2008. She was four the first day but her birthday was Wednesday, August 20th. I got a promotion this year and I am now Special Programs Coordinator. I had to be at school really early. Brian dropped Logan off at daycare. Logan did good. Logan is good as long as he gets to eat right away. He likes his food. Then he took Aubrey to McDonalds for breakfast. They stopped at Starbucks for me and then they were headed to school. Aubrey looked so cute in her uniform. There were many kids and parents crying. Aubrey stood close to her Daddy, but was never upset. Brian did a great job. He even took 2 pictures for me before they left the house. Aubrey's teacher is Mrs. Adames. She is wonderful! I know that Aubrey will have a great year. I picked her up in her Kinder line at school and asked her how school went. She said, "I'm a little dippointed (disappointed) because she taught me how to sit with my legs (criss-cross), but she never taught me how to read." It was too funny. Aub must have high expectations.
She loves the P.E. coach. His name is Coach Burns, Aub says Coach Burms. Coach Burns said that Aubrey told him "My Daddy spits, says bad words, and won't wear his seat belt, but I'm working on that." I thought that was so funny. Kids say the funniest thing. I am kinda nervous about what she might say next week. I told Brian what Aubrey said. He asked her and she said, "Yeh, Daddy you do spit, say bad words, and why don't you wear your seat belt. It's true."

Best Friends and good times

Brian and I went out on the boat with Craig and Erica. We went to Joe Pool Lake without any kids. We went out on the town(well, out on the lake) for Brian's birthday. His birthday is today, Monday, July 28th. I can't say he is getting old because I am a few years older than he is. We had the best time. We cruised the lake and then hung out at the Oasis for a little bit. We cruised some more and then after several attemps of loading the boat we were headed home. It was so relaxing. It was even more wonderful because the kids slept in on Sunday. That is very rare in our house. I don't know what Aunt Jennifer and Grannie does to them, but it works. They are always worn out. I am ready for the lake again. We are so lucky to have friends like Craig and Erica. You guys rock!!

Heat Wave 2008

Heat Wave

Heat wave definetely lived up to its name. It was sooo hot, but lots of fun. Brian and I met Chris Adams, Alex, and Lively at McDonalds to follow each other. Julie and DJ met us there. We walked around for several hours and admired our future cars. (well, maybe someday) It was good to hang out with our friends and have some grown up time.

Playnasium with Mimi

Playnasium

We went to the big town of Buda to visit our wonderful family. On the last day of our visit we went to the playnasium with Mimi. Poppy had to go to Kerrville. We wish he could have gone with us. Next time, Poppy. It was such a neat place. The playnasium was all indoors which was great because it was so hot outside. The kids could run indoors and we knew they were somewhere in the building. Logan kept us all very busy. We all had a great time. Thanks Mimi, we love you!!

Logan's 911 Call

Mr. Ravioli Man

No pictures!

I'm fine!

Look Mom and Dad!

It's time to play!

Really, what else could happen???
Logan had a late nap and when he woke up I fed him lunch. I attempted to feed him raviolis. I think he ate one and the other six or seven ended up in his hair, on his clothes, or on the floor. I cleaned his face and thought I would give him a bath in a few minutes after I pick up the mess on the floor. I took his clothes off and let him go play. Aubrey wanted to play on the computer. I closed the office door because Logan likes to turn the computer off when she is playing. The office door is a roll back door. The kids are supposed to be playing and I went to pick up the kitchen. Aubrey starts screaming "Momma!" Of course, I holler back,"What Monk?" Aubrey said she can't get out because Bubba is stuck and she is becoming hysterical. I run back to the office and the door is still shut but Logan is lying on the floor with his arm wedged under the door. (still with ravioli in his hair and no clothes on.) I try to pick up on the door, no luck. I try to push on the door, but no go. His arm is STUCK!! Aubrey his inside the office with Logan's arm and I am outside the office listening to Aubrey and looking at Logan's body. (It wasn't funny at the time, but it's ok now to laugh.) I told Aubrey I was coming right back,I run to get the phone to call Brian. I was going to turn into the Hulk and knock the door down. But .....the door didn't move. I told Brian I was calling 911. I heard the sirens and I run to the door, but they passed our house. That figures, Murphy's Law. I run back to Logan and try to push on the door, but his arm is pinched and is extremly red and is turning blue. I hear the sirens again, I run outside and 3 firemen jump out. We all run to the office door. They start talking to Logan. One firemen pushes on the door and the other one is gently pulling on Logan's arm. After about 1-2 minutes, he is freed. Man, they made that look easy. I really, really tried. We all went and sat in the living room. Logan wanted down to play, he seemed to be ok. The firemen were making sure that Logan could use his arm because it had begun to cut off circulation. Logan was playing with toys. He handed one firemen his bowl of raisins, another one his juice cup, and the third firemen Logan put his sunglasses on the firemen's head. Logan was back to himself. I know now that the City of Red Oak Fire Department is very helpful.
Ok, I am going to go give Mr. Ravioli Man a bath. No more excitement today, please!!

Elvis

Erica and I went to see Elvis last night in Arlington at a place called Hot Rods and Hoggs. There were probably 20-30 people there. There were about 15 people there to see Elvis. Well, it wasn't really Elvis, in case you didn't know. His name is Kraig Parker. He was entertaining and we even got up to dance. It was a fun Mommy night out maybe next time we could see the Beatles. lol We sat right up front, front row baby! We even got a picture with him. Well, I get a tattoo and then go to a biker bar. What's next???

a sidenote for Aubrey- I got a tattoo at the age of 32. Aubrey already said she wants a butterfly tattoo. I told her when she turns 25 I will get a matching butterfly. She already has it planned. She wants one orange wing because that is her Daddy's favorite color and one blue wing because that is my favorite color. Aubrey never forgets anything, I bet she remembers. I'll let you know in 21 years. Will is still be cool to get a tattoo when I'm 43?

July 11, 2008

Logan man had his 18 month checkup at 7:50 am. He is actually 18 1/2 months old. What was I thinking agreeing to 7:50 during the summer?? We made it, and we were even on time. Logan went from our little 3 pound baby to 25 pounds. He is in the 35th percentile for his weight. He is 31 inches long. He is so cute, but so little legs. He is in the 20th percentile for his height. Aren't we all in the Murphy family. I love you Brian. :) Good thing today is there were no shots. Aubrey was a great help in the doctor's office. She got a Hannah Montana sticker and Logan got a car sticker which he destroyed before we got to the car. Aubrey's sticker still looks perfect. Another Murphy thing. :)

After being so good at the doctor we went to play at the park in Waxahachie. We played, well I ran around chasing Logan and they played. Aubrey tried the monkey bars, but didn't have the best luck. She will get it soon I bet because there are monkey bars at her school playground. After leaving the park because Mommy was exhausted we went to get Aubrey some uniforms. She got a skirt and 2 shirts. She wanted to wear her shirt home. She looks so cute. I can't wait for her to start! Well, I guess I would like to prolong it a little bit because that means I have to go back to work. I think Logan will have a hard time with me leaving. I love his daycare though so I know he will be in good hands and we have great back up. Logan loves Mrs. Cathy. They are the best buds.

Logan is taking a nap now and Aubrey is wanting to play a game on the computer. She logs herself into the computer. I made the pbs website her homepage and she will play forever. I have to ask her to get off to go play or find something else to do. Now she is asking me to get off the computer and find something else to do. Does telling your parents what to do really start at age 4. Sorry mom!
