I'm Back

We all get so busy, but wow... It has been a long time.
It has been a great summer.  Only a few weeks until school starts.  I can't believe just a blog or two down and my baby girl was starting kindergarten.  Now she will be in third grade.  Logan will start kindergarten next school year.  We all have a year to pray for his teacher now AND me because I will be his assistant principal.  Can I beat him at school if he's mine?  j/k  I am hoping he will be the kid that is crazy at home but will be good at school.  Only time will tell.  We had an awesome summer.  I will blog soon about our summer trip to Sea World.  My kids are not only starting to grow up but they are starting to act grown up.  Aubrey and Logan were helping me clean up the house today.  Aubrey had just done a wonderful job cleaning the bathroom:  mirror, counter, toilet, and all.  Logan had to go to the bathroom.  I heard him ask her if he could go poop.  It was so funny BUT why doesn't he ever worry about that when I clean.  What a crazy kid!

Toy Run December 13, 2009

Brian and I went on our first toy run. Johnny, Elane, Brenda and Terry also took their dune buggies. Lori, Astin, and Jordan went too. We met in downtown Midlothian and rode to downtown Ennis. The ride ended at a pavillion where you took your toy and everyone visited and ate. The weather was cold on the way their but was beautiful on the way back. It was fun. Brian is planning on how to get a motorcycle and planning his next toy run. We'll see........

The Santa Tree Topper

We had our Christmas tree all decorated except the tree topper. The tree topper is (well....now......was) a Santa. I put it on the table and was going to have Brian help us put the final touches on the tree. The kids and I sat down at the table to eat dinner but Logan looked down at his plate. He said, "He is looking at me, he is scaring me." I told Logan, "no one is here, just eat." He got louder, "HE IS LOOKING AT ME, HE IS SCARING ME!!" Logan wouldn't look up. He was really scared. I told Logan again, "No one is here, you're ok." He pointed to the Santa tree topper. He got out of his seat and threw Santa into the living room. Poor Santa. Well, looks like..... The Murphy household will not have a tree topper for Christmas 2009. It's still a beautiful tree. I will have to look for an angel or a star for next year. Aubrey wants an angel for the tree.

Cancun 2009

Finally!! Brian and I were Mexico bound along with our best friends, Craig and Erica. We flew out early Friday, August 22, 2009 and came home on Tuesday, August 25, 2009. It was hard to leave our kiddos but it was a much needed vacation for us. They were well taken care of but it's still sad to know that I wasn't going to get my 7:00 am wakeup call every morning. The kids never sleep in unless they are with Aunt Jennifer or Aunt Kiki. (that's another blog) Our room was amazing, you can tell by the pictures and the view well.....I'm speechless. Our hotel treated us like royalty. It was very relaxing and we met some great people from all over the world. One day we went snorkeling over a national reef, souvenir shopping on the island of the women (there was not beautiful women, sorry guys), and a spiniker. A spiniker is similar to parasailing but not as high. We didn't go on the spiniker; we swam in the middle of the ocean in the beautiful water instead. No, we weren't scared. The weather conditions weren't the best for spinikering. We went out one night on the town and spent the rest of the time at the hotel with our new friends. We are already attempting to plan a reunion next summer. It was amazing!!!

Aubrey's 5th Birthday Party

Aubrey turned five the first week of Kindergarten. We had her party Saturday. She told Kathy Petty that she wanted to have her party at her house. Aubrey and Kathy have been planning a Hannah Montana birthday party for a month. Aubrey said we need to have pizza, salad, and lots of water. We ordered pizza, had salad and lots of water. We got other drinks too. Aubrey wrote her invitations out and has been very instrumental in planning her party. The morning of her party at 11:00 Aubrey, Samantha, Whitney, Aunt Jennifer and I went to Libby Lou at Parks Mall in Arlington. The girls got to dress up, they got their hair, nails, and make up done. They made their own lotion, body scrub, and fragrance spray. They had so much fun. Aubrey and Whitney got to dance at the end. The video is of Whitney and Aubrey at Libby Lou dancing.

After Libby Lou we ate lunch at Chick Fil A so Aubrey could get fruit and sweet tea. We headed back to Red Oak to go to her party. A few of the girls and a boy from Aubrey's class came to her party. Craig, Erica, Noah, Jordan, Stephanie, Brandon, Miranda, Ashley, Layni, Brandy, Justin, Kaityly, Ashleigh, Abby, and more of our family and friends were there. One of Kathy's friend's daughter dressed up like Hannah Montana. Each of the girls got a boa when they came in the door. There was a karaoke machine that the girls danced and sang to. They played and then ate pizza. Aubrey got many great presents for all our friends and family. Aubrey had been asking for Baby Alive and a Hannah Montana guitar. Mimi got her Baby Alive and Grannie and Miranda got her the Hannah Montana guitars. The two guitars are different and Aubrey is playing with both of them all the time. She got Hannah Montana toys and clothes. Bo and Kathy gave her a hot pink go cart. She loved it, and so did Logan. Logan did not want to get out of the seat. Aubrey had a great birthday. Thank you to all our friends and family. You guys are the best!! We love ya'll.
